My wife Shelly and I decided to go on a cruise over Christmas break. Were seeking warmer weather and a chance to recharge the batteries. Our ports of call are: Half Moon Bay, Bahamas. Georgetown, Grand Cayman. Roatan, Honduras and Cozumel, Mexico. Weather was great the whole trip, mid 80’s to upper 90’s in Honduras.
I’ve never been on a cruise, so it’s all new to me. Food was great. Wasn’t crazy about wearing a suit twice to dinner, oh-well. I went Scuba Diving in Grand Cayman, while Shelly shopped. I saw a Green Turtle (my first) and the largest Green Moray i’ve every seen. Shelly found some jewelry and I got a watch. Grand Cayman is the place to buy luxury items….No tax…NO duty.
On Roatan Shelly and I went snorkling on a large group cameraman. We snorkled on a little reef. Lots of colorful fish. They fed us on the boat afterwards. Jerk chicken, rice, cabbage and an AWESOME rum punch. They took us on a tour of the Island. Shopping areas were nice, rest of Island seemed very poor. Quite hot today, upper 90’s. Would like to come back and scuba here.
Were on Cozumel on New Years Eve Day, beautiful weather. Shopped and walked around Sam Miguel drank margaritas. Took my camera ashore for the first time. Took lots of pictures. Had a great sunset on the way back to the boat for New Years dinner. Shelly had to drag me off the pier. Dinner was GREAT lobster and steak with the love of my life, Shelly.
Would I cruise again ? Sure. Just not right away!
